Chapter 29: Just A Little Bit of Your Heart

Kolbie’s P.O.V.

I walked over to Drake’s house and knocked on the door. We needed to talk before he opens his big mouth. A girl came to answer it and I’ll admit she’s pretty; she looks like his type. “Can I help you?” She asked me with a small smile. She’s also nice; big improvement from previous girlfriends. Nebby’s my girl but she can be a bitch when she wanted to.

“Yeah um is Aubrey here?” I questioned. Her face change and she looked at me weirdly. “I’m a friend of Jhene and I need to make sure he doesn’t say something he shouldn’t,” I didn’t want her to get the wrong idea. She nodded before letting me come in.

“Aubrey!” She yelled out. He came from the kitchen with a little girl in his arms. When he saw me, he rolled his eyes. The little girl looked at me curiously before looking at Aubrey.

“Can you take My upstairs?” He asked the girl. She nodded and gave him a peck before going upstairs. He walked to the living room and I followed.

“You can’t stay mad at me for forever,” I mumbled. He could never stay mad at me and he knew that.

“You want to tell him or do you want me to? I can’t believe you would keep something like this away from him, away from me. You were like a sister to me and you did this shit!?” He snapped.

“I’m sorry. That’s why I’m here. I know he’s here,” I locked eyes with him. I hated James with the life in me but I guess he’ll have to know. He nodded and called James to come down. When he saw me, he stood frozen.

“Kolbie,” he looked at me in disbelief. He still looks like the same jackass from years ago and that just made me annoyed.

“Hi,” I let out a small wave. This is gonna be hella awkward but Aubrey shot me a look.

“You’re dead,” he scrunched up his face. There goes that dead thing again. I get it, I’m supposed to be dead but I’m not and you can obviously see that.

“That was a lie,” He looked at me like I was crazy and I’m used to it by know.

“What?” He sat down in shock. If he was shocked by that, he’ll have a heart attack from this.

“I’m only here because Aubrey told me I should tell. You have a four year old daughter named Nyra,” I said before leaving the house. Way to go Kolbie; I was proud of myself.

Drake’s P.O.V.

“Imma let you soak that in,” I patted him on the back before going upstairs. When I walked in, Nicki was stripping her clothes. “Just in time,” I licked my lips. She doesn’t know how sexy she looks.

“No! I’m still sore,” she pouted. I laughed, closed the door, before pulling her to me. “So who was she?” She questioned. She didn’t look mad, just curious.

“James’s ex, she got a kid by him,” I told her. She looked shock but shook it off. Nothing is shocking these days with everything going on.

“I hope he’s okay,” she whispered. I nodded before kissing her. She pulled me closer and deepened the kiss; I grabbed her ass and she moaned.

“We definitely have to fuck now,” I smirked. She turned and walked to the bathroom; leaving a trail of her clothing behind.

“If you ready then let’s see,” she threw over her shoulder before starting the shower. I let out a grin before stripping and going into the shower.

~

“Daddy?” My called me. She was lying her head in my lap as we watched a movie. It was like a Daddy Daughter Day.

“Yes baby girl?” I looked down at her. She always has questions about any and everything that goes on.

“What does bitch mean?” She questioned innocently.

“Who said that word?” I snapped my neck at her. I’m gonna kill James if it was him.

“Cousin James, he kept saying that someone was that. Is that a bad word daddy?” She looked up at me.

“It is, don’t say it okay?” I assured her. She nodded and put her head back down in my lap.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

I knocked on Shad door and waited; he opened the door and smirked. I walked in and sat on the couch. “Where’s Cassie?” I asked him.

“At her house, I wanted her not to be here for this,” he explained. I nodded before he sat down next to me. “Have you thought about the offer?” He looked at me.

“I did and I don’t think I can do it,” I shook my head; I couldn’t leave New York. I put a lot of thought into it but I can’t.

“This is a big opportunity,” he informed me. I sighed before thinking even more. This was huge for me but I couldn’t leave Aubrey.

“He doesn’t even know I applied,” I just applied  to see if I would make it in because that school was impossible to get in to unless you’re really good.

“Well you made it ma,” he smiled. Wait I made it; I made it?

“I did!?” I jumped up and screamed. He hugged me before showing me the letter. I only have to audition in front of them and then I’m guaranteed for next year. “I got in!” I smiled but it flattened when I thought of Aubrey. I don’t know how he’ll feel when he finds out I got into the same school that he was suppose to go to before his mom passed.

“He’ll be happy for you,” Shad nudged me; I hope he’s right.

~

“Welcome to the first official practice of our All-star team!” Aubrey said to the girls plus James as we all cheered. “Now before we start, let me remind you that this team has no rules; including relationships. Shad and I are dating two girls on this team; come here baby,” he held his arm out.

I walked to Aubrey as Cassie walked to Shad; yes, Cassie finally decided to join to team. He put his arm around me and kissed my forehead. “Does anyone have a problem with this?” He looked around and everyone shook their heads. “Perfect,” he smiled. We went over some new routines and helped the girls with no dance experience. James was surprisingly good; he looked distracted but so did Mere. She kept drinking out of her bottle and I bet you a million bucks that it’s not water.

“What happened to Mere?” I asked Blake as I approached her and Nae. Blake looked over at Mere and her eyes widen.

“She’s jealous,” Nae smirked. I cut my eyes at Nae before looking at Blake.

“She’s not jealous, she’s hurt. She’s just going through some things,” Blake reassured me.

“Bullshit, she’s just mad that she can’t have you,” Nae snapped. I pulled Nae aside and hit her. “Ow! What was that for?” She glared at me; she knew damn well what that was for.

“If you keep bashing Mere, that’s exactly whose arms Blake is going to run to. Stop focusing your relationship around Mere. Mere is staying in her lane and you should too. I don’t care if you’re my best friend, if you hurt my cousin, you’re dead to me,” I informed her before walking away. Aubrey motioned for me to go to his office. I walked in and he shut the door.

“You got into the school in Paris?” He scrunched his face up. Who told him? I was gonna tell him if I decided to actually go to the school.

“I didn’t tell you I applied because I didn’t think I would get in. I was going to tell you tonight,” I ran my hand through my hair before looking at him.

“I’m happy for you,” he smiled. He’s actually happy for me?

“You are?” I let out a sigh of relief. He nodded and pulled me into a hug. I was feeling so relieved not know at the time that Drake’s heart was slowly crumbling.

Blake’s P.O.V.

After practice I went to Nae’s house; she kept going on about Mere and it got old real quick. “Can you stop talking about her for two seconds!?” I snapped. She turned and looked at me in shock. I was really just fed up with the constant bashing of Mere.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” She glared at me. I know I shocked her because I don’t snap like that but I’m extremely annoyed.

“You; you only talk about Mere. If I wanted to be with Mere, I wouldn’t be here with you. I thought you would’ve dropped it by now,” I sighed.

“I just don’t wanna lose you,” she said softly. I looked up at her before sighing again.

“Then stop talking about her,” I told her before kissing her bye. When I got to Mere’s house, I smelled alcohol. “What’s going on?” I asked my cousin, Paris.

“Mere is taking that bottle to the head. She so drunk and she won’t listen to me. I’m bout to head out and get her some medicine for tomorrow morning,” she explained before walking out. I walked up the stairs and pushed her door open. What I saw completely broke my heart. She had her knees to her chest and her head in her hands. She sat in the middle of her bed with an empty bottle on the ground.

“Mere,” I said softly. She looked at me and then looked away.

“Please get out,” she mumbled. I could barely hear her but I knew what she said. She had to be insane if she thought I would leave her alone like this.

“I’m not leaving you like this,” I could smell the alcohol in the room and it was strong. How many bottles did she drink?

“You’re only making it worse Blake; I need some space from you,” she cried. In all my time of knowing Mere, I have never seen her cry. I heard she has barely cried in her life. It just made me feel worse than I did before.

“Mere,” I stepped closer to her but she snapped.

“Get out Blake! You need to leave!” She yelled; I ignored her and moved closer to her. I crawled on the bed and brought her head to my chest, letting her cry her eyes out.

“It’s gonna be okay,” I whispered. She was completely drunk and all her emotions just slapped her in the face; I guess she’s an emotional drunk.

“I can’t be around you like this Blake,” she whispered. She sounded so broken and done with feeling like this.

“I had no idea how much I was hurting you. I never meant to do this; you just seemed so cool about everything,” I let some tears out. She jumped up from her bed and walked out the door. I followed her into the hallway and grabbed her hand. “Stop running from me!” I begged her.

“I have to Blakelynn! This,” she pointed between us. “Can’t happen! I’m not this type of person. Damn Blake; what have you done to me?” she slid down the wall. “I don’t act like this; I never did in my life.”

“Mere,” I touched her shoulder but she stood up and moved far away from me. “Please don’t do this. Do anything but this,” I sobbed.

“Anything?” She lifted an eyebrow; I nodded cautiously. She walked towards me and pushed me against the wall. Her lips were close to mine but she refused to kiss me.  “If you don’t want this then push me away; I dare you,” she taunted me. She knew exactly what she was doing and I hated it.

“Don’t do this to me,” I pleaded to her but not pushing her away. She moved even closer and that just made me nervous.

“Just say the word Blake and I’ll move,” she looked into my eyes. I kept silent as she leaned in and kissed me; I kissed her back without any hesitation. My mind automatically blocked out any image of Nae as the kiss got passionate. I weaved my hands through her hair as she grabbed my waist. We broke apart and just stared at each other. I cannot believe I just did that to Nae. Damn it Mere!

“There, you got your answer. Are you happy now?” I snapped before running down the steps and leaving the house.

Drake’s P.O.V.

“Thanks,” I told her as I gave her the cash; she gave me a bottle and left. I went home and as soon as I got there, Nicki was standing in front of me. How does she do this, I don’t know.

“You said they were just pain pills,” she snapped.

“They are,” I told her. That is a lie but I didn’t want her to get even more mad at me.

“I know that drug anywhere Drake,” she cut her eyes at me. I forgot all about her dad being on drugs; of course she knows what drug this is.

“So I’m taking some drugs,” I shrugged. It’s not that big of a deal; it’s not like it’s messing with me and making me act different.

“You’re taking drugs while I’m here taking care of My, doing the dance team, and keeping up with my academics!” She yelled at me. She had so much weight on her shoulders and was still trying to be strong. It made me feel horrible.

“It’s not like I’ve put you guys in danger!” I reassured her. I would never put them in danger in any kind of way.

“I don’t care! My dad was addicted to drug and still is. I’m not going through this shit again. Call me when you decide if you want a family over drugs,” she snapped before going out to her car. I noticed she had a bag and My in the backseat.

“Nicki!” I called out to her but she was already in the car. “ONIKA!” I yelled but she pulled off and didn’t look back. I sighed before grabbing the bottle and pulled out some pills. I popped them and walked upstairs; she's gonna leave me anyway. She's gonna go to Paris and find someone her own age who's a lot better than me. Now that is what hurt the most; knowing that she can do better and she'll see that as soon as she's in Paris. My pills are the only thing that numbs that pain.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

“So why are you here?” I asked Blake as I picked her up from Mere’s house. She got in and I pulled off. She looked exhausted and a little guilty. I think I know what happened by her expression.

“We kissed,” she sighed and put her head in her hands. She looked so ashamed of herself. “I can’t believe that I let this shit happen.”

“Figured,” I mumbled. It was only a matter of time before Mere couldn’t take it anymore. She truly tried but she just broke.

“Why are you?” She questioned. I rolled my eyes at the thought of Aubrey. He just really pissed me off and I need space.

“Aubrey’s on drugs,” I said softly. She nodded as I started driving slightly faster.

"Where are we going? We can’t go back to my mom’s house,” she looked at me.

“I know a place,” I said hopping on the highway.

~

We were here in an hour. I got my stuff and grabbed My. She leaned against my shoulder and fell right back to sleep. I knocked on the door and Tyler answered the door. He opened the door without any hesitation. He showed us where we could stay and we got settled in. When I put My down, I went downstairs with him.

“So what happened?” He asked as he gave me some water. I could always talk to him about anything and know that he wouldn’t judge me. He’s the best guy friend that a girl could have.

“He’s on drugs,” I let out a tear. He wiped it and looked at me. He could sense the hurt in my eyes.

“Do you love him?” He rubbed my hand softly. I nodded as more tears fell. I love him so much that it hurts to be without him even for a second. I guess that what Beyoncé meant when you’re dangerously in love.

“So much that I gave him my virginity,” I cried. I gave him my everything and I know I could never leave him. He’s my heart, mind, and soul.

“Stay here for the night and then go talk to him. See if y’all can sort this out,” he rubbed my back before leading me back upstairs.

“Can I sleep with you tonight?” I locked eyes with him. He nodded and led me to his room. I changed into one of his shirts and crawled in the bed beside him. He pulled me close and I laid my head on his chest.

“I love you Nika,” he kissed my forehead.

“I love you too Tyler,” I smiled before falling asleep. I guess I’ll talk to Aubrey tomorrow and see what happens.

  1. Okay first, thank you for not making that Drake's kid. James calling that girl a bitch though, around My lol. I knew Mere and Blake would kiss. I prefer Mere tbh. Drake knows he's wrong to be doing drugs like that with them in the house. And who the fuck is Tyler ? At least he's not hitting on her so I'll let him slide this time.

  2. James needs to man up and be a dad, I can see why she didn't tell him. I'm scared that this is the start of Drake's drug problem. Blake is in a love triangle and at this point I don't know which one she should be with. Nicki needs to learn not to walk away from her problems because it only makes things worse.

  3. First off, Kolbie was hella wrong for that stunt she pulled, had folks thinking she was dead. Damn, Mere tried so hard, it broke my heart just to see her in the state she was in, she really likes Blake. I'm tired of Need talking white about Mere, like damn, give it a rest we know, you got Blake ! As for Drake, he shouldn't be doing drugs, and he should be more happy about Nicki getting into college. I low key think Tyler want Nicki! Great Chapter cant wait for the next update.
