Chapter 93: Deadly Conversations

Nicki

I groaned when Mylan ran away. I looked at Daven and then at Nae. “I’ll talk to you later,” he told me. He knew that it was best to leave.

“Alright,” I sighed. He walked away leaving Nae and me alone. She glared at me but I really didn’t want to hear her mouth right now.

“You’re so done with him right?” She let out a dry chuckle.

“Look what you saw wasn’t what you think it was,” I said. Why must everyone walk in at the worst moments?

“What was it Onika? Remember whatever you say to me, you’re gonna have to repeat it to Mylan,” she reminded me. Talking to Mylan was gonna be a whole different story.

“We both know it’s best to end whatever this is. It was like a goodbye kiss but I guess it went a little further than I thought,” I admitted. I honestly meant for it to be a peck but he’s a really good kisser and I couldn’t help myself.

“I swear you give me a headache. You’re just as bad as your cousin is, if not worse. What the hell happened to you two over this past year?” She looked at me in disbelief. I didn’t like the way she was looking at me. She looked like I was a horrible person.

“Can we rewind and remember that you were the one who left for a year? Shit happens and people change over a year.” I crossed my arms. She was not gonna turn all of this on me.

“Obviously. You’ve never screwed someone over like this and the fact that this is your husband we’re talking about, it makes it ten times worse. You have two children to be worrying about Onika!” She reminded me.

“I do not need you judging my parenting skills and I don’t need your input on my marriage. I don’t need shit from you Jaznae!” I felt my anger rising.

“You didn’t need shit from her but if it wasn’t for her then your daughter probably wouldn’t be alive right now.” I turned and saw Jessi standing there.

“Stay out of it.” I felt like everyone was ganging up on me.

“I don’t see how you can turn a conversation about you cheating into Nae leaving,” she kept talking. I looked at Nae and she had this weird look on her face.

“Let her talk,” Nae told Jessi. She looked at me and waited.

“What do you expect me to say? You left and now you’re back judging everyone’s lives. Who knows what the hell you did in Texas. I could’ve been judging you for making out with Mere but I let that go. You saw me making out with Daven and you won’t let that go?” I huffed.

“That’s is different. We were drunk while you and he were perfectly sober,” she quickly checked me.

“It’s funny how you’re back but you’re completely different. I mean just look at how you treat Blake. It’s not like she did shit to you. She wouldn’t hurt a fly.” Blake was my cousin and I was gonna stand up for her. She didn’t do anything to Nae.

“I guess you don’t know your cousin well enough. She’s not innocent Onika. She’s almost as bad as you,” she shook her head.

“And who told you that? Mere? You’re gonna believe everything Mere tells you?” I was so sick of how close she was to Mere. She ditched everyone and went straight to her.

“Mere didn’t have to tell me shit. I know Blake and I know you. Y’all are taking low to a new level. Wake up Onika. You’re being so fucking selfish. Your daughter just saw you making out with someone who she calls her uncle. Her uncle! Do you know how traumatized she must be!? She was just talking about how nice things were going and you had to go fuck it up.”

“You know me huh? I know you too Jaznae. I know that you left for a reason. Maybe it’s not as deep as I thought it might be. Did you just get bored with us? Did you wanna hurt Blake? Is that why you went to Mere? I don’t know what the hell happened to you in Texas but I do know that you’re not my best friend. My best friend wouldn’t leave out of nowhere and come back a year later like everything is fine. That’s a bitch ass move and you know it. I never took you for a coward. You could’ve at least faced us and told us you were leaving. Maybe Blake was right; you came back as a bitch. A mighty selfish bitch if I may add.” I spat out.

“That was way too far!” Jessi looked at me like I was crazy.

“That’s what you really think of me?” Nae asked softly. I looked at her a little shocked because she looked extremely vulnerable. I thought she was gonna come back with a bitchy response but she looked hurt.

“Nae,” I started but she backed away from me.

“Glad you finally said what you wanted to say. I came back as a bitch right? I guess it must be true because you know me right?” She had tears falling down her face. Nae doesn’t cry often so I knew that I went too far.

“Jaznae I didn’t,” I tried but she cut me off.

“You’ve said all you needed to say. Maybe I should just go back to Texas and stay out of your life then I won't be able to bother you anymore.” She wiped her tears and took off to her suite. I groaned again and felt like slapping myself. I did not mean to say that.

“I don’t know what kind of friend you are but I know that I would’ve never said that to my best friend. Why the fuck would you call her a bitch?” Jessi snapped.

“She’s been putting all the blame on me and I’m sick of it,” I hissed.

“So she’s a bitch because she left without telling anyone right?”

“Yeah,” I nodded.

“She’s a bitch because she ran to Mere right?”

“Exactly!”

“She’s a bitch because she came back and tried to act like nothing ever happened right?”

“Now you’re getting it.”

“The same bitch that only came back to talk your daughter out of suicide right?”

“Wait,” I looked at her weird.

“The same bitch who continually tried to help you with your relationship right?”

“Jessica stop.” I didn’t want to hear this anymore.

“The same bitch who ran out with tears in her eyes. The same bitch who rarely cries. The same bitch who will always tell you the truth. The same bitch who always had your back no matter what. The same bitch who will probably forgive you because you’re who you are. The same bitch who has to go talk to your daughter about shit that you did. The same bitch who’s been noticing things that no one else has. The same bitch who will always call you and Blake out on your bullshit. The same bitch who has some sanity around here. Do I need to go on?” She raised a brow.

“You both need to just stay out of my marriage.” I felt like I always ended up repeating myself.

“I just know one thing Onika. Too many people are finding out and it’s only a matter of time before Drake finds out. Some of us have a big mouths and like to throw everything on the table,” she warned me.

“Is this a threat?” I cut my eyes at her.

“I’m just saying you should tell Drake before he hears it from someone else.”

Mere

“I feel like it’s only gonna be drama on this trip,” Blake said as she sat on the bed next to me. She had the exact same thoughts as me. There were way too many secrets that were coming unraveled.

“I can promise you that you’re right. There’s so much shit that’s about to come out.” I knew Daven was gonna find out about Carson. It’s just gonna set everything off. I just hopes Jaymie will end up okay. I know how fucked up Daven treated her.

“Any of your secrets?” She raised a brow as if she didn’t already know.

“I don’t have any,” I shrugged it off.

“I can name a couple.” I turned my head and glared at her.

“Drop it Blakelynn.” I always tell her that yet she rarely listens.

“You’ve been telling me that for a year now Mere. Am I gonna have to wait ten years until I can talk about it?” She huffed.

“Not even then. I don’t want to talk about it. Why must you always try to bring,” I started but it got cut off by the door opening. Nae walked in with tears running down her face. I immediately felt concerned because Nae only cries when someone hits a trigger point.

“Nae.” I stood up and worried.

“Get out,” she told Blake. I closed my eyes and sighed because I knew that Blake was gonna be stubborn.

“What the fuck is,” she started but Nae cut her off. She should know better than to push Nae when she’s like this.

“My problem!? You wanna know what my fucking problem is!? You and your cousin are my fucking problems. Get the fuck out!” She snapped and looked at Blake in pure hatred. I quickly stood in between them and turned to Blake.

“Blake can you just give us a minute?” I pleaded.

“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes and walked out.

“Come here.” I opened my arms and Nae wrapped hers around me.

“I wanna go back Mere. I wanna go back to Texas. I can’t be around them anymore,” she mumbled.

“What happened?” I pulled back and wiped her tears before leading her to the bed. We sat down and she looked at her hands.

“Am I a selfish bitch?”

“Wait huh?” That question came out of nowhere so I was a little lost.

“Am I a selfish bitch for leaving New York and not telling anyone? Am I a selfish bitch because I ran to you instead of any of them? Am I a selfish bitch because I tried to come back and have things back to normal? Have I always been like this?” She truly looked like she believed it.

“Nae you and I both know why you left. If you’re calling that selfish then you’re the dumbest person on the earth. They don’t know shit and no one has a right to judge you. They don’t know why you ran to me and they don’t need to. They don’t need to know shit. They should just trust you and get over it. Why are you talking like this? What happened?” I was concerned. I knew there were a handful of things that triggered Nae to act like this and I wanted to know who caused it.

“Nicki and I got into it. And I mean really into it. I said some things but she basically blamed everything on me. She made it seemed like everything was fucked up because I left. My own best friend called me a selfish bitch. Someone who I thought knew me better than I know myself but obviously she doesn’t. Then again maybe she does. Is it my fault why everyone is screwed up?”

“No it’s not your fault. I swear Nicki is starting shit with everyone and it’s getting old real quick. Don’t listen to anything she’s saying. Fuck everyone who thinks they know why you left. You did the right thing and you know it. Remember what your dad told you?” She looked down and a small smile crossed her face.

“That he’s never been more proud of me.”

“He’s proud of you and so am I. You keep saying I’m the one who puts everyone over me but it’s really you. You need to give yourself more credit. Don’t listen to anyone who doesn’t know the full story,” I reminded her.

“I don’t know what I would do without you.” She pulled me into a hug.

“I don’t know what I would do without you either Munchkin.” She’s taught me so much and vice versa. I felt like a completely different person than I was before we became cool. “I love you Jaznae.”

“I love you too Chimere,” she smiled.

“I think that’s the first time you didn’t call me Cheeks,” I chuckled. Ever since she came up with that nickname, she wouldn’t give it up.

“Oh shut up Cheeks,” she giggled. “I feel so torn. I know who she’s with but I know how much drama that’s gonna start. She completely bitched out on me but I still feel like I have some type of loyalty to her.”

“Well I don’t have any. My loyalty is to Aubrey and I’ll be damned if I just sit back and watch him get played.”

Mylan

“I just don’t get how she could do that.” I felt like I’ve cried for hours. Nyra stayed up all night with me and we ended up talking about it.

“I can’t believe my uncle did that. He should know better but obviously he doesn’t. I swear he’ll never meet Carson if he keeps this up,” she mumbled to herself.

“Carson?” I questioned.

“Oh I wasn’t supposed to say that,” she frowned slightly.

“Who’s Carson?”

“Auntie Jaymie’s son.” She bit her lip nervously.

“Auntie Jaymie has a son? It’s Uncle Daven’s kid?” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Yeah and he’s so cute. My mom made me promise not to tell anyone. She’s best friends with Auntie Jaymie and thought Uncle Daven was being an idiot,” she shrugged.

“It seems like him and my mom deserve each other,” I rolled my eyes. I heard a knock on the door and felt like groaning.

“Come in!” Nyra said. I looked at the door and Auntie Nae walked in.

“We need to talk.” She eyed me.

“I’ll go check on the kids.” Nyra hopped up and left out of the room. Auntie Nae closed the door and joined me on the bed.

“How are you feeling about all of this?” She questioned.

“It’s fucked up,” I said bluntly.

“Completely fucked up,” she nodded.

“I don’t know why she would do this. Even if she was seeing him, she said she was done with all of that. Why the fuck would she be making out with him?” I huffed.

“There are a lot of things she needs to explain but I’m not here to talk about her. I’m here to check up on you. I wanna know how it’s affecting you,” she looked concerned. It’s funny how she’s more concerned about me than my own mother is. It seems like my mother is really showing her sister side. Stuff like this just reminds me that she’s not really my mom and my dad isn’t really my dad. They just act like it but I guess Mom just stopped acting.

“I feel all kinds of fucked up but Nyra stayed up talking to me so that helped. I just don’t know what to do. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut but I can’t tell Dad. That would kill him,” I groaned.

“I can promise you that he’ll find out soon enough. Too many people know now and it’s only a matter of time before it comes back to him. I don’t know what’s gonna happen with your parents but I do know that I’m always here for you when you need to talk,” she promised me.

“Thanks Auntie Nae.” I hugged her.

Drake

The kids went to Disney World while we were down here. I think there was just too much drama with the adults for us to join them so Ace, James, and Ciara took them. I felt like there was so much more tension than usual. Shad invited everyone to our suite to watch a movie and relax but it was awkward. It seemed like Jessi, Nae, and Mere were glaring at Nicki. Shad paused the movie and looked at all of us. “There’s obviously something going on that I’m completely oblivious to. Can someone please explain?” He looked at all of us.

“Do you wanna explain Nicki?” Jessi crossed her arms. I looked at Nicki but she glared at Jessi.

“What’s going on?” I asked slowly. Jessi usually didn’t get mad at Nicki so I knew it had to have been something big.

“Nothing,” Nicki said.

“Nothing my ass,” Nae mumbled.

“Shut up.” Nicki cut her eyes at her.

“Shut up? I mean you already think I’m a bitch so I might as well act like one,” she shrugged.

“It’s really hard to not call you a bitch when you’re acting like one.”

“The only one acting like bitch in here is you.” Everyone went silent when Mere spoke up. Everyone knew that she liked to stay out of drama so this was new. What did Nicki do?

“Excuse me?” Nicki scrunched up her brows.

“I really don’t have a problem with you as a person. I love you like a sister but you’ve been screwing over everyone. I held my tongue about a lot of things but I’m not holding my tongue when it comes to Nae. She did absolutely nothing for you to be talking to her the way you have been.” Mere locked her eyes with Nicki.

“Of course you would say that for Nae.” Blake rolled her eyes.

“Of course she would say that for me. Get over yourself Blake,” Nae snapped.

“I never said anything to Nae that wasn’t true,” Nicki told Mere.

“You’ve been calling her selfish but you’re the one acting selfish,” Jessi cut in.

“Get over myself!? You’ve been talking shit since you’ve been back but you don’t make fucking sense. You’ve just been glued to Mere’s side like you don’t have a life.”

“I’m not being selfish!” Nicki stared at Jessi a little shocked.

“You’re so fucking jealous that it’s pathetic. You and Nicki have a lot of shit in common. You’re both selfish and you want everyone to yourselves. You want everyone to listen to you and do what you say but fuck it.” Nae stood and turned to Blake. “I’ve wanted to kick your ass for the past year.” She walked closer but Mere hopped up and held her back.

“Come on Nae we’ve talked about this,” she pleaded.

“I think I should go,” I heard Daven say.

“Oh now you wanna go?” Jessi let out a dry chuckle.

“Jessica!” Nicki snapped at her.

“Is that a tattoo?” Paris eyed Mere’s waist. Mere stopped holding Nae and pulled down her shirt.

“Shit,” she groaned.

“You can’t control everyone Onika! You are gonna push everyone away and you’re gonna end up with no one. Just tell him the fucking truth!” Jessi snapped.

“That matches Blake’s tattoo,” Cassie pointed out.

“You always think that everything revolves around you! You’re so fucking pathetic and it’s sickening. You think you can treat people any types of way and expect them to always come back. You think I don’t know about wh,” Nae started but Nessa cut her off.

“Jaznae!” She pushed her back so she couldn’t get closer to Blake.

“You don’t know shit Jessica so shut the fuck up!” Nicki stood and Jessi stood with her.

“I think y’all should calm down,” Daven told them but Jessi glared at him.

“Shut the fuck up! I already wanna kill your ass so don’t tempt me,” she shook her head. Daven looked at her a little shock and then looked at Nicki. “Yeah fuckboy, I know about it,” she nodded.

“Stop being such a bitch Jessica!” Nicki stepped closer.

“I can show you a bitch.” Jessi moved closer.

“You should just take your ass back to Texas because shit was so much better without you!” Blake’s face started getting red out of anger.

“Why don’t you say what you really want to say? You’re jealous because I’ve been hanging out with Mere. You’re scared she’s gonna be fed up with your bullshit like everyone else and ditch you. You think I took your spot in her life and guess what bitch? I did.” Nae had a wicked smile on her face.

“Whoa wait a minute!” Shad jumped in between Nicki and Jessi.

“What the hell is happening?” I looked around confused. Everyone was acting crazy as hell. There was obviously something going on that I didn’t know about.

“Why do you have matching tattoos with her?” I heard Cassie ask.

“Cass leave it,” Mere groaned.

“Italian huh?” Paris eyed it but Mere pulled her shirt down.

“Some cousin you are!” Nicki tried to get around Shad.

“Some cousin I am!? What about you!? You’ve been a bitch to everyone! Just because your life is fucked up doesn’t mean that you have to screw up everyone else’s!” She almost got around Shad but he kept her back. I finally snapped out of my shock and held Nicki back.

“Let me go Aubrey! I’m swear I’m gonna hurt you!” She yelled to Jessi.

“I dare you bitch!”

“Mere! A little help over here!” Nessa called out.

“Jess calm down!” Paris rushed over and helped Shad keep her back.

“Why don’t you fucking tell him Nicki!? She’s not fucking innocent!” She said.

“What is she talking about?” I looked down at Nicki. She looked nervous but she also looked pissed as if I wasn’t supposed to hear that.

“She’s talking nonsense. Don’t say shit about something you don’t know anything about! You just assume shit!” She tried to break out of my hold.

“I fucking hate you!” Blake looked like she wanted to kill Nae.

“Glad the feeling is mutual! Move the fuck out of my way Nessa. I’ve waited a whole year to beat her ass and I’m not letting you stop me.” She managed to break out of Nessa’s hold and she pushed Blake to the ground.

“Mere!”

“Nicki calm down!” Cassie told her.

“We’re supposed to be family!” Nicki broke out of my hold.

“Family ain’t shit nowadays!” Jessi pushed Shad aside. Nicki and Jessi stood face to face.

“Keep my business to yourself,” Nicki lowered her voice.

“I think your husband has a right to know. Did everyone in the room catch that? Did you get that Shad? Did you get that Daven? Her husband. Her fucking husband!” Jessi glared at her. Why was she announcing that to everyone?

“Jaznae!” Mere stopped Nae before she could throw a punch.

“Not this time Mere. I swear I’m gonna hurt her!” Nae fought against Mere’s hold. She looked determined so that made me question even more things.

“Antonio!” He rushed over and helped her hold Nae back.

“Everyone knows I’m fucking married!” Nicki snapped.

“Everyone but you!” Jessi glared. “You’re married and you should act like it instead of being a fucking whore!”

“I’m not a whore!”

“Are you back on drugs and shit!? You’re fucking crazy Jaznae!” Blake said and Nae immediately stopped fighting against Antonio’s hold.

“Let me go,” she said calmly to Antonio.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he shook his head.

“I’m not gonna ask you again. If you would like not to be in pain then I would suggest releasing me.” She warned him.

“Mere.” He looked at her a little worried.

“Don’t listen to her!”

“You act like I’m out here fucking the entire world!” Nicki pushed Jessi away from her.

“You might as well be. You’ve been a shitty cousin, friend, wife, and mother. Is there anything you’ve been good at recently besides opening your legs!? Why don’t you tell Drake about that time you were out all night and you had hickeys, messed up makeup, and your walk wasn’t right? No wife should be fucking someone else!” She pushed Nicki back. I looked in between them trying to figure out what happened with them. Nicki said she was done with him so why is Jessi snapping at her?

“I’m getting sick of you acting like I’m some fucking kid! I’m a grown ass woman!”

“You are MARRIED Onika! Do I need to spell it out? You’re so stupid!”

“Jess maybe you should stop,” Paris warned her but Jessi ignored her.

“I warned you.” Nae moved and kneed him.

“Fuck!” He let her go and held his crotch in pain.

“Jaznae!” Mere snapped and went to help Antonio.

“I dare you to repeat what you said. I dare your ass to say that shit again.” Nae walked up to Blake.

“You’re fucking crazy! Are you back with Aaron and that’s why you’re like this!? I went through hell trying to help you nine years ago and now it just looks like all of that went down the drain.” She looked at her in disgust.

“All of that went down the drain huh?” Nae nodded slowly. “Of course you would think shit has nothing to do with you. You have to think that I’m on drugs to call you out on your bullshit! I’m not scared Blake and I’m done holding back. You crossed the line.” Nae moved and lunged at her before anyone could stop her.

“JAZNAE!” Mere’s eyes went wide and she quickly went to pull Nae off her.

“You’ve been obsessed with my life because you don’t have one!” Nicki yelled at Jessi.

“I don’t have a life? You know what Onika? I’m done. I’m done trying to help you.” Jessi shook her head and backed away from her. “I’m not even gonna tell him because despite how much of a bitch you’ve become, you’re still family and I have some type of loyalty to you. You’re sick Onika.”

“Let go of her hair!” Nessa tried to loosen Nae’s hold on Blake.

“Get her off me!” Blake shrieked.

“Jaznae!” Mere finally was able to push her off.

“Y’all are fucking crazy,” I heard from behind me. Everyone turned around and saw Jaymie leaning against the door.

“Jaymie?” Daven looked at her in shock.

“So is this about the whore in the room?” Jaymie eyed her nails before looking around.

“Whore in the room?” Paris questioned. Jaymie locked her eyes with Mere and she nodded.

“Oh y’all didn’t know? I thought Nicki would’ve told you guys that she was fucking Daven.” Jaymie crossed her arms. The room went silent and all eyes went on them.

“Shit,” Nicki mumbled.
