Chapter 60: Giving Yourself Away

Drake

Previously:

“I should have stayed,” she whispered.

             “I should have fought harder,” I whispered back. She looked down but I titled her head. “I still love you Onika,” I confessed.

“I still love you Aubrey,” she confessed also. I couldn’t help it anymore; I crashed my lips onto hers. She moaned at the impact before kissing me back. I gripped her waist and pulled her as close as I could. “This can’t happen,” she mumbled against my lips.

“Then why aren’t you stopping it?” I asked right before kissing her again. She pulled away and looked at me as if she was seeing me for the first time.

“I can’t leave him Aubrey,” she cried.

“Why would you want to be with a guy who puts his hands on you?” I think she’s absolutely insane if she really wants to be with him.

“He’s not a bad person Aubrey; he’s just going through some things. He means a lot to me and I can’t just leave him,” she wiped some of her tears. I shook my head and backed off of her and walked out. “Aubrey,” I heard her call but I closed her door and walked back into my room. She has to be crazy if she’s gonna stay with a nigga who’s putting his hands on her. Just wait till I see that nigga.

 

Nicki

I left Aubrey's house to go by Nae's because I can't be around him right now. I just need a couple of hours. He acts like Channing is the worst person in the world. I pulled up and walked inside to look for Channing. I found him in our bed reading a book. “Hey baby,” he hopped up and kissed me.

            “Hey,” I smiled as he embraced me.

            “I’m sorry,” he winced as he looked at my cheek.

“It’s not your fault,” I rubbed his hand.

            “I’m still sorry. In no way was that acceptable,” he pulled me close and kept whispering how sorry he was. He pulled back and kissed me again. “Let me make it up to you,” he mumbled against my lips. I nodded while he picked me up and laid me on the bed. He hovered over me and started kissing my neck. “I’m sorry,” he kept whispering as he pleased me.

Nae

I walked in my house and saw Cassie and Blake sitting on my couch. “Hey,” I eyed them.

“Hey, we’re going shopping but Alexis is taking too long,” Cassie chuckled. Blake made sure to not look at me and I held in my laugh.

“Hi Blakelynn,” I saw her tense up.

“Hi,” was all she said and I left it there.

“Is Nicki up there?” I needed to check with her about something.

“Yeah, she came in about an hour ago,” Cassie nodded. I turned to the stairs and saw Channing walking down. I went up and walked into Nicki’s room.

“Hey,” she smiled.

“Hey,” it seemed like something was off but maybe it was just me. I got a good look at her and scrunched up my eyebrows.

“What are you looking at?” She asked automatically defensive.

“Either you put too much makeup on or that’s a bruise on your cheek,” I crossed my arms.

“I fell,” she shrugged it off.

“You know, that’s your favorite excuse. I remember that one time that your ex put his hands on you and you told me that you fell. I guess it’s just a coincidence right?” I looked at her.

“Exactly,” she nodded.

“Cut the bullshit Onika. Is he putting his hands on you!?” I didn’t want to believe that she would let him do that but she’s just making me question a lot of things about her right now.

“Does it matter?” She stood up.

“So let me get this straight, he’s putting his hands on you and you’re allowing it,” I let out a dry chuckle. “Never thought that I would see the day,” I shook my head.

“Just stay out of it Nae,” she snapped.

“Whatever Nicki,” I walked out. She looked like she’s been through this conversation before so that makes me think that Drake found out. I’d love to be there when he beats Channing’s ass.

Nicki

Now that Nae knows, that worries me. How long will it take until everyone knows? I hated that I had to go back to Aubrey’s house but I wanted to be there for My. I walked in and found him on the couch. He looked over at me before returning his attention to the TV. “You can’t seriously be mad at me,” I said but he turned the volume up. Oh how childish of him. I walked over and grabbed the remote out of his hand before turning the TV off.

“What do you want Onika?” He finally looked at me.

“You’re just gonna ignore me because I won’t leave my fiancé for you? That’s just straight up childish and you know it,” I crossed my arms.

“I’m not ignoring you because you won’t leave him for me. I’m ignoring you because I don’t wanna hear anymore bullshit come out of your mouth,” he glared at me.

“And what bullshit is coming out of my mouth Aubrey!? What do you think I’m lying about? I’ve been telling you the truth all day yet you never listen,” I rolled my eyes.

“You’ve been telling me the truth huh? So you were telling me the truth when you said that you were still in love with me?” He raised a brow.

“That was just me being caught in a moment. I promise that it’ll never happen again,” I couldn’t believe that I let him kiss me and I kissed him back. That was just straight up wrong to do to Channing.

“You were caught up in a moment when you said that you should’ve stayed too right? You were just caught up in a moment when you told me that you were celibate because you couldn’t see yourself having sex with anyone besides me? You were just caught up in a moment with all of that shit huh?” He threw what I said back in my face.

“Yeah I said all of that because I was just caught up in a moment. Can’t you just let me be happy Aubrey!? You’re just jealous because I love Channing more than I love you,” I snapped.

“You love him more than me yet we were up in your room kissing earlier? What are you trying to do Onika? You want to mess with my head and make me feel like you still want me? You’re fucking with me and I’m done with this shit,” he got up and tried to walk away but I stood in front of him.

“I’m not fucking with you at all. I wanted commitment and Channing gives me that. You are too fucking unsteady for me to ever consider going back to you. You never know what you want about anything,” I cut my eyes at him.

“I want you to leave him. Haven’t you learned already that even if you don’t want me, you should leave him? I want you to be happy and in a safe relationship. What’s it gonna take for you to leave him huh? Is it gonna be on your death bed when he takes it too far one night?” He questioned.

“You know what, fuck you Aubrey. You don’t know shit about my relationship! You just want me to be with you,” I huffed.

“You’re delusional Onika if you really do stay with him. You’re caught up in this little fantasy and no one can knock you out of it. So seeing that this is how you turned out after six years, I don’t want you,” he just broke my heart with that sentence. I know I deserved that but to hear him say that brought tears to run down my cheeks. “Onika, wait I didn’t mean that,” he tried to touch me but I backed away.

“You said enough Aubrey,” I turned and walked out.

Mylan

I grabbed Mom’s computer and searched through her email contacts. She had way too many contacts but I knew that I would find her. I’m not stupid nor am I deaf. I heard Mom and Dad arguing last night and right now. I knew something was going on but I never thought Channing was hitting her and that made me mad. “You know you shouldn’t be sitting up baby girl,” I heard Dad say as he walked in.

“I’ll lay back down in a minute. I’m almost done,” I typed faster to search for her name.

“What are you doing with your Mom’s computer?” He came and sat next to me. I found her name with her cell phone number and quickly grabbed my phone. I punched it in and it started ringing. “Who are you calling?” I ignored him as I waited.

“Hello?” I heard her say and a smile appeared on my face.

“Jessi!” I beamed.

“Mylan!? Oh my goodness how’s my favorite little cousin?” Jessi is my cousin on my Aunt’s side and she’s really close to Mom and Cousin Blake.

“Is there any chance that you could come to New York as soon as possible?” I waited for to answer as Dad looked at me like I was crazy.

“Who are you talking to?” I wish he would just let that go for one second so I could talk to her.

“What’s so bad that I need to come all the way up there? You know how long it takes to get from Atlanta to New York My,” she sighed. She knew almost everything that went on in my life because she’s so close to Mom.

“You know how Mom is engaged to Channing right?” I needed to make sure that we were on the same page.

“Yeah.”

“Well he’s putting his hands on her and she’s allowing it,” I knew I shouldn’t have blurted out Mom’s business like that but that was the only way I knew she would come up here.

“How do you know that!? Who are you talking to!?” I heard Dad raise his voice but I ignored him once again.

“Oh hell no! I’ll be there by tomorrow. Don’t tell Nicki either, she’s about to get a visit from her favorite cousin,” she hung up and I smiled.

“Mylan?” I finally looked over at Dad.

“Don’t worry about it and just act like you didn’t just hear that please. She’s my cousin and she’s someone who can knock some sense into Mom. I promise you that she can do it. You know that she deserves better and she needs to leave him,” I explained.

“Are you sure that this will work? I don’t wanna put unnecessary stress on her,” he sighed.

“I’m sure because Jessi has been talking sense into Mom for years. I just wanna help her even if you two don’t end up together. She’s my mom and I’m worried about her,” I didn’t want her getting hurt. I can’t lose another mom.

“Alright baby girl, I’ll trust you on this one,” he kissed my head before walking out. Oh Mom is in for a rude awakening because Jessi’s coming to town.
