Chapter 25: Fight For You

Nicki’s P.O.V.

I walked up to the house and knocked on the door. “Onika, what a surprise. Come in,” she moved aside and let me in. “I’ll go get her,” she disappeared upstairs. Cassie descended down the stair and stared at me.

“What are you doing here?” She asked softly.

“I needed to know why. Why would you do something like this?” I stared at her.

“I can’t answer that,” she mumbled.

“Did you really do this?” I questioned her. She nodded before crossing her arms. “Why would do something like that Cass!? I thought we were friends again,” I cried. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She looked at me and her face turned stone hard.

“We were never friends. I wanted you to believe that until I could get you back for what you did. Jaznae was right, you would see the real me soon enough. Well this is the real me and I don’t give a fuck about you. Now get the hell out of my house,” she snapped before going upstairs. I left her house in tears. I can’t believe she would do something like this. I drove home and crawled into bed. I just want to sleep until things go back to normal.

Cassie’s P.O.V.

I packed my last bag and put it in the moving truck. I’m getting the hell away from this place. Before I could go back inside, I heard someone call my name. I saw Nae coming towards me.

“I hope you’re happy,” I snapped at her.

“I am, my girl finally saw what kind of bitch you really are,” she smirked.

“What do you want?” I rolled my eyes.

“I just want to know how can you sleep at night knowing what you’ve done? Why did you do it?” She raised an eyebrow.

“You know why so get the fuck out of my way,” I glared at her before walking back into my house. I ignored another call from Shad. I can’t believe all this is happening. Everything is going wrong and I hate this! I hate myself. I slid on the floor and cried. I cried until I couldn’t cry anymore. Another call from Shad was coming in. I screamed and threw my phone against the wall in my room.

Chimere’s P.O.V.

“How is she?” I asked Aubrey as I walked into his house.

“She won’t talk to me. She’s camped out in her room and refuses to come out,” he sighed.

“Let me go talk to her,” I told him before going upstairs. I opened the door to find her sitting in a corner, staring at the wall. I sat next to her in complete silence. Every since she found out I was a lesbian, she became cool with me. “I know it doesn’t make sense but everything happens for a reason,” I broke the silence.

“Why would she hurt me like this?” She cried. I pulled her to me and let her cry.

“I don’t have an answer to that Onika but I know the truth will come out eventually,” I promised her.

“Thank you Mere,” she wiped her tears and gave me a small smile.

“That’s what I’m here for,” I smiled back.

Shad’s P.O.V.

“I don’t understand how she could do this,” I said to Mere as we watched the security cameras from last night. It clearly shows Cassie sneaking into the gym.

“Stop there!” Mere shouted. I stopped and noticed another figure walking into the gym first. “Go to the other camera,” she stated as I switch it. I couldn’t make out if it was a boy or girl but that person had pictures in their hand. “Looks like a boy,” Mere squinted. Cassie then showed up and yelled at him. She tried to take the pictures down but he said something that made her leave.

“She didn’t do it,” I said softly. “She didn’t do it!” I jumped up and ran to my car. I drove to her house and banged on her door. “Open up Cass!” I shouted.

“Are you looking for Cassie?” A little boy asked from next door.

“Yeah,” I nodded.

“She moved about an hour ago,” he confessed. She moved? How the hell does someone move in a day? “Thank you,” I told him before going to my car. I pulled out my phone and called her.

“I’m sorry but the number you reached is disconnected,” was all I heard before I broke down. How can she leave me?

~

“She didn’t do it,” I told Drake when he answered the door.

“What?” He scrunched up his face but I went upstairs to find Nicki.

“She didn’t do it,” I told her.

“Huh?” She looked up.

“She lied. She didn’t do it. She tried to stop the person who did it. I couldn’t figure out who it was but it looked like a guy. She didn’t do it!” I explained.

“I knew she wouldn’t do this,” she smiled.

“But there’s one problem,” I mumbled.

“What?” She asked.

“She moved,” I stated and she instantly got quiet.

Blake’s P.O.V.

“I told you to not get caught…..I know……I’ll figure it out….No….Bye,” I heard my mom say to someone on the phone.

“Who was that?” I asked her as I walked towards the kitchen.

“Oh no one sweetheart. You look so pretty today,” she complemented me.

“Thank you,” I looked at her strangely before leaving. My phone rung and I saw Nae was calling me.

“Hey,” I said as I got into my car.

“Hey what are you doing?” She questioned me.

“I’m about to go to Mere’s house but I can meet up with you later,” I told her.

“Okay,” she sighed.

“Are you okay?” I needed to make sure.

“I’m fine Blake,” she said before hanging up. I went to Mere’s house and let myself in.

“Hey,” she smiled from the couch.

“Hey,” I said before plopping down on it.

“So what’s  up?” She handed me a cup of coffee.

“I think my mom’s hiding something. I heard her talking to someone on the phone this morning and it’s not the first time I heard her talking to this person,” I explained.

“You should let it play out. Snooping will only make it worse. Like they say, don’t go snooping for something that doesn’t need to be found,” she insisted.

“Then there’s also Nae. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells around her. I don’t want to say the wrong thing,” I admitted. Mere looked down for a moment before looking back at me. “I’m sorry, is it too awkward to talk to you about her? I should have known,” I rambled.

“It’s okay Blake. We were friends way before we tried anything. I’m still here as your friend,” she reassured me. I smiled at her before further explaining my situation.

Drake’s P.O.V.

“You good?” I asked Shad as we sat at my table.
“Naw but I’ll be fine,” he mumbled.
“I know it sucks,” Nicki said before rubbing his arm.
“So what are we gonna do about the dance team?” She looked at me.
“What do you mean? There is no dance team,” I scrunched my face up.
“Isn’t there something that we can do?” She pleaded.
“Naw there isn’t,” Shad told her.
“I got an idea,” I smirked before getting up.

I was walking to my door when I heard some movement next to my house. New neighbors were moving in so I decided to introduce myself. I walked over and smiled when I saw a cute baby girl sitting in the trunk of their car.

“Hi, I’m your next door neighbor,” I told the girl. Her back was to me as she put down the box. She turned around and her smile flattened.

“Aubrey?” She locked eyes with me.

“Kolbie?” I looked at her in shock. We stood in silence before I heard My come out and begged me to take her to the toy store. I walked away from Kolbie, not being able to say anything. She’s here? She’s alive?

Jhene’s P.O.V.

“Shit,” I hissed as I ran. I ran as fast as I could but not fast enough.

“Come here you hoe!” I heard him yell. Before I knew it, he hit me. I fell to the ground and pleaded for him to stop.

“You know what I want,” he said sternly. I got up and quickly punched him. I ran and didn’t look back. Before I knew it, I was at Aubrey’s door. I banged on it before he swung it open.

“What the hell?” He took in my appearance. My hair was a mess, blood was all over me, and my shirt was ripped. He grabbed me and pulled me to him.

“What happened?” He asked.

“Can we talk about this later,” I begged. He nodded and brought me upstairs.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

I was over at my Aunt’s house. Her, Blake, and I were sitting at the table. “Who were you talking to?” She demanded.

“I called you both here because there’s something you both need to know," I looked at her in confusion.

“First off, Blake, it’s about your father,” she stated.

“Did you find him!?” Blake perked up.

“He’s not-,” Auntie tried to talk but Blake cut her off.

“Oh my god! When can I see him?” She immediately asked.

“He’s not your father Blake,” Auntie said sadly.

“Wait what?” Blake grew silent.

“I had an affair and that’s why he left,” she explained. Blake looked at her in horror.

“And why am I here?” I looked at Auntie.

“The accident your mother and Caiah were in,” she started but tears flew down her face.

“What about the accident?” I stood up.

“It wasn’t an accident. Someone meant to kill them,” she responded.

“Who!?” I started pacing. She was silent so I slammed my hands on the table. “WHO!?” I shouted. My mom and brother was a touchy subject.

“Your father,” she mumbled. Blake looked up at her and her eyes grew.

“No,” she backed away from her mom.

“Blakelynn,” she pleaded.

“Do not come near me. I can’t believe you! You’re such a whore!” She ran out the door and I was quick behind her.

“Blake!” I yelled. She turned to me and I pulled her into a hug. We both just cried.

“I’m a mistake,” she cried.

“No you’re not. God planned for you to be here,” I told her.

“No Nika, you don’t get it. The guy who she had an affair with was your father,” she confessed. For once in my life, I was silent.
