Chimere’s P.O.V.
“Hurry up
girls!” I told them as I waited by the bus. It was going to take us to Florida.
From New York to Florida is a long ride so I came prepared. We were staying
for a week and competing in a competition. Bethonia was the first to load the
bus with her stuff.
“You know
us white people always on time!” She joked as she got hit upside the head by
Max.
“I don’t know
what white people you been talking to because I stay running late,” she laughed
as she got a seat. It would be hard to see some of these girls go considering
they are all competing in this competition but we only have twelve final spots
and nineteen girls left. We’ll do more cuts later in the season. I saw Blake
walking to the bus and a smile graced my lips.
“You’re
sitting by me?” I asked her when she got closer.
“Sure,” she
smiled as she loaded the bus. Nae loaded the bus next and shot me an evil look.
“I don’t
know what your problem is but I suggest you drop it because I already said if
you bring drama to this team then you’re done,” I threatened her as she smacked
her teeth.
“Whatever,
I don’t even have a problem,” she walked onto the bus. Nicki and Cassie were
the last of the girls to arrive and of course they argued on who could go on
the bus first.
“Oh my
god!” I snapped as Nicki finally made her way onto the bus. Cassie soon got on
after and I finally spotted Drake and Shad. “I swear you guys take longer than
girls,” I joked as we all loaded the bus. Of course Drake and Shad sat by each
other as I made my way to sit by Blake. I noticed her and Nae were sitting on
opposite sides of the bus; furthest away from each other. They must have gotten
into a fight when I left.
Drake’s P.O.V.
I had my
head glued to my phone the entire time. I was shocked Shad hadn’t noticed but
when I looked over, he had his head glued to his phone too. I guess everyone
was bored. Nicki and I were talking about last night. We messed around a bit
but all I did was please her.
Drizzy: So
last night wasn’t too much for you?
Onika: No,
I loved last night. It was romantic.
Drizzy: So
what you’re saying is we can do that again?
Onika:
Definitely ;) You’re tongue works like magic
Drizzy: I
got something else that can work like magic
Onika: Lol
stop! You know these hoes are back here talking about you.
Drizzy:
Naw, what are they saying?
Onika:
They’re saying how sexy you are. I’m tempted to smack the life out of them.
Drizzy:
Jealousy is sexy on you
Onika: ;)
Drizzy: Is
My sleeping?
Onika:
Yeah, I think she’s drooling on my shirt -______-
Drizzy:
Suck it up mommy
Onika:
Whatever you say Papi
Drizzy:
We’re done here
Onika: Aww
is little Drizzy getting hard?
Drizzy:
Ain’t nothing little on me.
Onika:
Trust me I know
I feel like we’re in for a long bus ride
Blake’s P.O.V.
“So whose
you’re favorite band?” Coach Chimere asked me.
“You
probably don’t know them,” I shrugged.
“Try me,”
she had a slight smirk on her face.
“The Blake
Veil Brides,” I said and looked over at her.
“I love
them! In The End is my favorite song!” She exclaimed.
“I love
that song!” I laughed as we talked more. It turns out that we have a lot in
common.
“Don’t tell
the other girls this but you can call me Chimere. I actually hate being called
Coach Chimere. It makes me feel old. I just got out of college this summer,”
she playfully pouted.
“Wow,
you’re really young,” I told her.
“Shad,
Drake, and I all are. We just wanted respect so we were extra hard on you guys.
Except Shad, he’s a little teddy bear,” she teased.
“So
Chimere, why did you decide to coach this dance team?” I locked eyes with her
as she playfully giggled.
“Secret?”
She looked over at me and I nodded. “Drake practically begged me to help you
guys so he could have a girl influence on you guys,” she shrugged.
“Really?” I
was shocked because Coach Graham didn’t seem like the type to beg. She nodded as we went on talking about more
things. Time had passed and she fell asleep. I was going to fall asleep but I
decided to text Nae.
Blakey: Are
you still mad at me?
NaeBear:
I’m surprised you noticed. Seems like you’re having a blast with your new BFF
Blakey: You
know that’s not true. Is that why you’re mad? You’re scared she’ll replace you?
NaeBear: In
a way yeah. I mean look at the position I caught you guys in the other day. It
seems like you’re pretty close if you ask me.
Blakey: She
was telling me to push off with my hips. That’s the only reasons her hands were
there. She was showing me how to do that.
NaeBear:
Oh, well now I feel bad
Blakey:
Don’t, I would hate it if someone waltz in and seemed like she was trying to
steal my best friend away from me.
NaeBear:
Besties again?
Blakey:
Besties again :)
Cassie’s P.O.V.
Shad: You
okay back there?
Casandra:
Yeah, I was feeling worse earlier. I think my car sickness has died down
Shad: Well
good because I don’t like seeing you sick
Casandra:
Aww aren’t you sweet?
Shad: So
for Florida, you gonna stay a night in my room?
Casandra:
Am I aloud? I mean you are a boy and boys have cooties.
Shad: I’m a
man baby and I’m the coach. I can do whatever the hell I want and get away with
it but I think you should just have one of your friends cover for you for that
night. All I’m asking for is a night alone with you Cass
Casandra:
Okay :)
“Cassie!” I
heard CeeJay call my name.
“Huh?” I
finally looked up from my phone to find my whole crew staring at me.
“What are
y’all looking at?” I scrunched my eyebrows up in confusion.
“You were
just all up in your phone and smiling like an idiot,” Hale joked.
“Girl, please,”
I dismissed her.
“Who were
you texting?” Jaycee asked.
“No one,” I
shifted my eyes back to my phone. I felt someone staring at me so I looked up.
I expected it to be my girls but I looked over and saw Mylan staring at me
curiously. Nicki was staring at her phone and My was laying across her lap as
she rubbed her back.
“Hi
Cassie!” She waved at me. All my girls shot me confusing looks but I ignored
them.
“Hi My,” I
waved back at her. Nicki’s head snapped over at me as soon as I finished my
sentence. We shared a look which wasn’t a mean one. I guess it was both of us
remembering the times we’ve spent together. She was my best friend but I don’t
think I’ll ever forgive her for what she did.
Nicki’s P.O.V.
We finally
stopped for the night and checked into a hotel. I was rooming with Blake and
Nae while Nia was rooming with Carmel and Yana. We got up to the rooms and saw
only two beds. I sat My on a bed and got her stuff in the room.
“Mommy?”
She called out to me.
“Yes baby?”
I turned to her.
“I’m
hungry,” she rubbed her belly. As soon as she finished her sentence, there was
a knock on the door. Blake opened it and called for me. I picked up My and
walked to the door. Drake was standing there waiting.
“What are
you doing here?” I questioned him as I looked around to make sure no one was
around.
“I wanna
take you and My out to Dinner,” he explained.
“Won’t
someone see us?” I didn’t want to get in trouble.
“I told
them I was taking you guys to the store to get My some medicine. She has a
cold,” he smirked.
“And that
shouldn’t take long,” I was confused.
“Nicki, the
nearest store is an hour away from here,” he smiled. I returned his smile and
threw a peace sign at my girls. We walked out the hotel and into a rental car.
“Where are
we going?” I asked him.
“Just sit
back and see,” he pulled off after securing My in the backseat. Driving with
Aubrey was relaxing. My fell asleep somewhere along the ride but Drake and I
were wide awake. We were going back and forth with questions. “When did you
have you first kiss?” He asked me.
“You’re
gonna laugh,” I playfully pouted.
“I
promise,” he seemed sincere but I knew better.
“I had my
first kiss when I was fifteen and it practically didn’t even count,” I mumbled.
He started laughing and I hit his arm.
“You’re
gonna make me crash this car!” He laughed but was slowly calming down.
“When did
you have yours?” I was curious.
“When I was
five with my babysitter,” he smirked.
“FIVE!?” I
practically yelled but calmed down so I wouldn’t wake My.
“Yep I was
a player,” he gloated.
“You’re
babysitter was a hoe,” I smacked my lips.
“One of the
best kinds,” he joked as we pulled up to a restaurant. We ate and then went on
a nice stroll.
“Mommy my
feet hurt,” Mylan complained softly.
“Want me to
carry you?” Drake offered.
“Yes!”
Mylan exclaimed as Drake picked her up and started carrying her.
“My, what
do you say?” I looked over at her.
“Thank you
Brey!” She smiled as we continued our stroll.
“So what
time do we have to get back?” I asked him. He was about to answer but something
caught his attention.
“Aubrey?” A
woman called out to him.
“Uh hey
Nebby,” Drake rubbed the back of his neck. I noticed he did that a lot when he
gets nervous.
“Hey, what
are you doing in Florida?” She locked eyes with him. She completely ignored
Mylan and me.
“My dance
team has a competition down here,” he explained.
“Oh I heard
that you, Shad, and Chimere were gonna knock the girl’s team into shape,” she
joked. I finally had enough and cleared my throat.
“Oh Nebby
this is Nicki one of my dancers and this is her sister Mylan,” he introduced
us.
“Oh I’m
sorry, I barely noticed you. Why are you walking around with one of your
dancers?” She raised an eyebrow at him while I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
“Her sister
is sick so I’m taking her to the store to find some medicine,” he lied
perfectly. She observed My and took noticed that she did look sick but she
always looks sick when she’s tired.
“Oh well it
was nice seeing you around Aubs. We definitely need to catch up,” she smiled at
him.
“Yeah, it
was nice seeing you to Nebb,” he returned the smile as she walked away. I
rolled my eyes and quickened my walking speed. “Hey Nic, wait up!” He called
out to me.
Drake’s P.O.V.
“What’s up
with you?” I asked Nicki when I finally caught up to her.
“Nothing,”
she huffed as we started to walk back to the car. I placed My in the backseat
and closed the door. I turned Nicki around before she could get into the car.
She huffed as I had a tight grip on her waist. “What’s wrong?” I whispered and
she looked at me almost in shock.
“You
honestly can’t tell?” She was blinking back her tears.
“No, I
wanna know what I did,” I pulled her closer. She tried to push me away but I wouldn’t
let up.
“She was
flirting with you right in front of my face and you basically ignored me,” she
snapped at me.
“She wasn’t
flirting with me at all. I didn’t mean to ignore you but I was in shock from
seeing her. I haven’t seen her in years,” I explained.
“Who is she
Aubrey?” She demanded to know.
“No one
important,” I lied as I tried to calm her down.
“She’s
obviously important if she calls you Aubrey. Now I’m going to ask you one more
time. Who is she Aubrey?” She asked through clenched teeth.
“She’s my
ex. We ended pretty badly but it was one of those young and dumb kinds of
things. We weren’t really serious well at least she wasn’t because she ended up
cheating on me with one of my best friends. She admitted that she had been
cheating the whole time and it practically broke my heart. We met up a couple
of years later and started to be friends again. That’s all we are. I promise
you baby,” I pecked her lips as I reassured her.
“One more
thing we need to make sure that’s clear,” she said.
“What?” I
looked at her and she looked sternly at me.
“Mylan is
my daughter, not my sister. I don’t care what kind of looks I get because I’m
young. I did what I had to do for her and I’m proud of myself. I will not let
you or anyone else ever downgrade me to feel like I shouldn’t be proud to call
that little girl in this car my daughter,” she went off at me.
“I’m so
sorry. I didn’t even think when I said that. You know I would never do
something like that intentionally. I love Mylan and I love you. I’m sorry,” I
pulled her into a hug and she hugged me back. I pulled back and looked at her.
“So are we good?” I cocked an eyebrow playfully.
“Just kiss
me you fool,” she giggled as I pulled her into a kiss.
