Chapter 23: Known As Miracles

Blake’s P.O.V.

I sat in the chair next to Nae’s bed in the hospital. She’s stable and is resting. The doctor people who survive what she did are known as miracles. I thank god for that miracle because I don’t know what I would’ve done if she wasn’t okay. Everyone went home and her sister is coming back in a couple hours. I saw her opening her eyes as she looked around the room. She looked scared until she laid eyes on me.

“Where am I?” She was confused.

“You’re in hospital,” I kept my stale face.

“Why?” She asked me.

“Because you overdosed Jaznae! What the fuck do you mean why!?” I snapped at her.

“I know that. Why did you save me?” She cut her eyes at me.

“You know what, fuck this,” I got up and tossed the note at her before I left. I can’t believe she’s acting like this.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

“Just give her some time Blake. She needs some help and she’s not thinking right now. I’m sure she didn’t mean it. Yeah, I’ll talk to you later. Alright, love you. Bye,” I hung up the phone and then went upstairs.

“How is she?” Aubrey whispered as he was on the bed with My.

“She’s fine but she’s acting rude. She needs some time,” I shrugged at him.

“Come sleep with us babe,” he reached for me. I climbed into the bed and cuddle up to My as Drake wrapped his arms around us.

~

I got up early the next day so I could see Nae. I hope she’s in a better mood because I’m not down for dealing with her shit. I stepped into the room and her eyes locked with mine. “Can you give us a minute?” I asked her sister.

“Take as long as you want,” Karla gave me a look which probably meant Nae wasn’t in a good mood. I sat by her bed and just stared at her.

“Are you gonna say something or just stare at me?” She snapped.

“Why would you do this?” I asked as my voice cracked. She noticed my hurt expression and her face soften.

“Nicki,” she sighed.

“Why would you try to leave me? You’re practically my sister. All I have is My, Blake, my aunt, and you. Do you know how hard it would be to attend my third funeral,” I cried.

“I’m sorry Nicki,” she cried too.

“Don’t do shit like that again,” I pulled her into a hug. As I pulled away, I noticed the note she gave Blake on her lap. “You know you’re wrong for treating Blake like that,” I told her.

“I know. I just wasn’t thinking. Can you tell her I’m sorry and that I really want to see her,” she pleaded.

“See her yourself,” I said before I opened the door. Blake walked in with My in her arms.

“Auntie Nae! I got you balloons! They always make me feel better when I’m sick,” My rushed over and handed Nae the balloons. Nae thanked her and pulled her into a hug.

“Come on My, let me take you home to see daddy,” I picked her up before leaving Nae and Blake alone. “Be nice,” I shouted before closing the door.

Nae’s P.O.V.

I played with my finger as I refused to look at Blake. I’m never this nervous around her but I didn’t think I would actually have to explain that letter. I was supposed to be dead! She sat down and sighed. “I’m sorry,” I said quietly.

“You should be,” she snapped.

“I know I shouldn’t have tried to leave you and Nicki,” I admitted. Blake stood up in anger.

“That’s all you have to say!? You tried to die and leave me all alone. You’re my best fucking friend Nae! Do you know how horrible that would’ve been if you died!? I can’t get the image of you lying lifeless on the ground out of my mind! I will always remember that. You left me with a fucking letter. That’s all I deserve? A fucking letter!? Then you had the nerve to ask me why I saved you!? You’re so fucking selfish Nae,” she was pacing. She finally sat down and took a deep breath.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry Blake. I never wanted to hurt you,” I tried to contain my emotions but I couldn’t stop crying. Between having Nicki yell at me and then Blake, it’s overwhelming. She grabbed my hand and looked at me.

“I shouldn’t have yelled at you,” She apologized.

“It’s okay. I deserved it,” I let out a small smile.

“Damn right you deserved it,” she finally cracked a smile. I rubbed my thumb up and down on her hand. “About that letter,” she started.

“We’ll talk about it later. I can only take so much in one day,” I interrupted her. She nodded and started talking about what I missed in dance.

Mylan’s P.O.V.

Mommy dropped me off at home and then went back to check on Auntie Nae. Daddy and I were watching TV when my stomach grumbled. “You hungry?” He asked. I nodded as he stood up. “Go put on some shoes. I’ll take you out to get pizza,” he said.

“Yay!” I smiled as ran to get my shoes.

“No running My,” he said sternly. I slowed down and grabbed my shoes.

~

“Are you full?” He looked down at me as we walked towards the car.

“Stuffed,” I puffed out my stomach and rubbed it. He laughed as he set me on the hood of the car. He was tying my shoe as the guy I ran into the other day, walked by.

“Mylan,” he said in shock. I scrunched up my face. How did he know my name? Daddy picked me up protectively as he eyed the man.

“Can I ask how do you know my daughter?” He spoke to the man.

“Your daughter?” He laughed. I looked at daddy as we shared a look. This guy was nuts.

“What’s so funny?” I snapped as I crossed my arms.

“You look just like Onika,” he smiled at me. How did he know mommy?

“Who are you?” Daddy demanded.

“I’m this little girl’s father,” he smirked.

“Imma give you two seconds to leave as I try to not whoop you as-butt,” he looked at me before finishing.

“Whatever man. Just know that you’ll never be that girl’s father,” he laughed again before walking away. I looked at daddy as he tried to calm down.

“Daddy?” I called softly.

“Yes My?” He turned to me.

“Was that my first daddy that left me?” I questioned curiously. He nodded as he walked towards the car. “Well I don’t want him. I have you,” I wrapped my arms around him. He smiled as he put me in the car.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

“I told you to leave us the fuck alone!” I shouted on the phone. Aubrey just told me what happened and I rushed home. “I don’t give a fuck who you are. You stay away from me and My before I file a restraining order. Don’t try me Robert,” I hung up before slamming the phone down.

“Baby calm down,” he kissed my neck.

“I just want him to leave us alone,” I cried. He pulled me into his arms and let me cry.

“I won’t let him come near you nor My,” he promised. I shifted and straddled his waist. “What are you doing?” He asked me.

“I want you,” I stated before kissing him.

“Nic, you’re emotional right now. I don’t want you to do something you’re gonna regret,” he pulled away.

“But Aubrey,” I pouted.

“Don’t use that pout on me. I’m tryna wait until you’re legal and it’s not that far away,” he smiled.

“It’s forever away,” I sighed.

“I promise baby, when you get this,” he bucked against me. I moaned out to him. “It’ll be worth the wait,” he kissed me. “Why don’t I invite my sister over this weekend and we can do something fun with My,” he suggested.

“Okay,” I pecked his lips before getting up.

Blake’s P.O.V.

“You know you don’t have to watch me all the time. I’m not gonna kill myself,” she joked. I was helping her get settled in at home since she’s been released from the hospital a few days ago.

“Just making sure,” I smirked before sitting on the edge of her bed.

“Thanks for helping me so much Blake. I’m serious, not many people would have stuck around,” she smiled at me.

“You know I’d help you with anything,” I gave her a smile back. It was a halfhearted smile because I was so distracted.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Nae nudged me with her foot. I turned to look at her.

“We never got to talk about that letter,” I mumbled a little.

“Can we not talk about that,” she sighed.

“Then when? You’ve said that for the past few days. Nae, you said you loved me. You told me that you felt the same way! How can we not talk about it? I’m in love with you and you’re telling me that you love me back! Do you know how long I dreamed for this to happen? I use to lay awake at night that you would somehow fall for me the same way I did for you. I wished this for so long and-,” I rambled.

“Blake that letter was a goodbye letter. I never planned on actually having this conversation with you,” she cut me off.

“Can we just talk about for a second,” I pleaded. She nodded as I observed her. She seemed stressed. Maybe she was up thinking about this letter.

“Let’s start with one question at a time. Do you love me?” I asked her.

“You know I do Blake,” she confessed.

“But are you in love with me?” I stared at her. She opened her mouth but then closed it. She closed her eyes before opening them and locking into a stare with me.

“Yes,” she stated.

“For how long?” I brought my knee up and leaned against it.

“How long what?” She looked puzzled.

“How long have you been in love with me?” I repeated.

“For a while now Blake. I’ve been in love with you for years before I even realized I was. When I saw you and Coach Chimere, I got jealous. Then when she approached me saying she wanted you, I got defensive. In that moment I realized I was in love with you,” she explained. I let out a smile as I tried to contain my tears.

“Come here,” she opened her arms and I crawled into them. She kissed my head as I cried softly. “Everyone has been crying lately. It’s getting kind of annoying,” she joked. I laughed as she wiped my tears. “I love you Blake,” she said aloud.

“I love you too Nae,” I smiled before she brought her lips to mine and kissed me. I pulled away and looked at her. “You’re not drunk?” I raised an eyebrow. She laughed and shook her head. “And you’re not doing this out of anger?” I questioned one last time.

“No,” she smiled before kissing me again.

Jhene’s P.O.V.

“What did you do now?” Aubrey asked me as soon as he opened the door.

“I fell,” I stated.

“How,” he narrowed his eyes.

“I was dancing to music and didn’t notice the stairs,” I shrugged. He eyed me a little bit longer before letting me in.

“Auntie Jhene!” My shouted before hugging me.

“Hi My,” I hugged her back before hugging Aubrey and Nicki.

“Daddy said we’re going to the arcade!” She exclaimed. I laughed at her before we headed out. Nicki and I were eating while Drake and My played games.

“So you and my brother,” I smirked.

“What about us?” She raised an eyebrow.

“I’m just saying y’all are playing house already so I can only imagine when you turn legal what he might do,” I pointed out.

“You don’t think he would propose do you?” She had a worried look on her face.

“Not a proposal but maybe somewhere down that lane,” I explained. She looked at me and sighed. My came over and dragged Nicki with her, leaving Drake and I.

“So you and Nicki,” I said the same thing I said to her.

“Yeah, I love that girl man,” he shook his head.

“So what are you doing for her birthday?” I addressed him.

“Like imma tell you. You have one of the biggest mouths I have ever seen,” he let out a grin.

“So when are you gonna tell her?” I got serious.

“I don’t know,” he shrugged.

“You’re gonna have to tell her sooner or later. She bound to find out,” I noted.

“I’d rather tell her after I’m good,” he promised.

“You’ll never be good Aubrey,” I accused.

“Do you have it or not?” He glared at me. I rolled my eyes and slid it over to him.

“This conversation is not over,” I declared. He nodded before putting it in his pocket. I hope Nicki knocks some sense into this boy.

Chapter 22: My Shadow Is My Only Friend

Nicki’s P.O.V.

“You came,” he turned to me and smiled.

“Why didn’t you tell me that you were at my competition?” I immediately asked him.

“Because I saw your ex there and knew it would be drama. I didn’t want to add onto that,” he shrugged. I stared at him to just observe his features. He’s getting old. How did he even know who my ex is?

“Well what do you want?” I crossed my arms.

“I wanted to see you and My. Can’t a father see his kids?” He questioned me.

“Oh so now you wanna claim us. What about years ago? What about when mom died? Where were you then?” I snapped my eyes at him.

“Look, I know that I’ve made mistakes but I just want to make things right between us,” he pleaded.

“We don’t need you anymore. If you want what’s best for us, then stay away,” I said before walking away.

“Don’t do this Nika,” he pleaded. I spun around and glared at him.

“Don’t call me that. You’ve lost every last right to call me that,” I spat out.

“Listen, I know you’re hurt but-,” he said but I snapped.

“Hurt!? You think you know how I feel!? You up and left us! You didn’t even come to mom and Caiah’s funeral. You disgust me,” I looked at him in pure hatred.

“I’m only here to tell you-,” he tried but I cut him off.

“I don’t give a fuck why you’re here. I’m leaving,” I walked away and never looked back.

Drake’s P.O.V.

I walked into My’s room and saw her on her bed. She had her head down but I knew she wasn’t asleep. “Can we talk for a second Mylan?” I asked her as I sat on the edge of her bed. She lifted her head to look at me then nodded.

“I’m sorry for making mommy cry, that was my intention,” I explained to her. She crawled to my lap and laid her head on my shoulder.

“I don’t like seeing mommy sad,” she whispered.

“Neither do I sweetheart,” I kissed her head. That’s why I had to handle Nebby last night. I realized I was wrong and I ended up telling her I was in a relationship. She looked hurt but understood that our time has passed. I left early and went home to Nicki.

“Daddy?” She called my name out.

“Yeah,” I looked down at her.

“Will you always be here? My other daddy left me. You won’t leave me too right?” She was on the brink of tears.

“I’ll never leave you My,” I held her close. I couldn’t imagine my life without Mylan and Nicki.

Nae’s P.O.V.

“I’m done,” I told CeeJay as we sat on my porch.

“What do you mean you’re done? With Blake, Nicki, or dance?” She asked me.

“All of it,” I sighed as I grabbed the pills from her. I grabbed a random number and popped them.

“I should have never given you those,” she mumbled.

“Shit, not you too. I don’t need another one of my “friends” telling me what they think is best,” I rolled my eyes.

“You’re going to end up killing yourself if you keep this up,” she told me.

“I don’t care. I’m probably better off dead. Then I wouldn’t hurt Blake anymore,” I stood up and went to go inside.

“Nae, don’t shut me out. Of all people, don’t shut me out,” she begged me.

“I just need some space Cee,” I told her before shutting the door. I walked back into my room and locked the door. I needed to make this quick and easy. I started off by grabbing a pencil and some paper.

Dear Blakelynn,

I know you’re going to freak out when you find out that I’ve passed but please accept that this is for the best. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had and if this was under different circumstances, I would almost call you my sister. I would but you’re not like a sister to me, you’re more than that. Nicki is like a sister to me and you would be to if I wasn’t in love with you…Yeah I’m in love with you. I know I told you I wasn’t and all that nonsense but I truly love you Blake. I love you to the point where it hurts to not be able to tell you. I love you but I don’t deserve you at all. You’re too good for me and I would only result in hurting you. I hope you can move on from me. Don’t ever forget how much I love you Blakey.

Love,

Nae

Nicki’s P.O.V.

“Where’s Jaznae?” Drake asked as soon as practice started.

“She’s not coming,” CeeJay said as she popped her gum.

“What do you mean she’s not coming?” He scrunched up his eyebrows.

“She said she’s done,” she shrugged before stretching.

“Can I go and check on her coach?” Blake asked him. Drake nodded as Blake ran out of practice. Whatever Nae’s going through, I hope she’s okay.

“Take a ten minute break everyone!” Drake shouted before going to his office. After a few minutes, I followed him in. I walked in and locked the door. “Hey,” he smiled small but it wasn’t returned.

“Where were you last night?” I stood in front of him with my arms crossed.

“I told you I was-,” I didn’t even let him finish before I cut him off.

“You got one more time to lie to me,” I cut my eyes at him.

“How’d you find out?” He sighed.

“I have my ways Aubrey. Why did you go see her after I told you I wasn’t okay with it?” I was hurt because he lied to me.

“I didn’t want to hurt her and I didn’t want to hurt you,” he explained.

“Are you still in love with her?” I looked away afraid of the answer.

“Of course not. I made a mistake and I fixed it baby,” he pleaded.

“Did you sleep with her?” I turned to him.

“No, we didn’t do anything. I told her about you and told her we couldn’t hang out anymore,” he said truthfully.

“And you couldn’t have done that over the phone?” I locked eyes with him.

“I need to end our friendship in person. At first I thought we could hang out without causing trouble but I realized I was wrong and I’m sorry baby,” he confessed.

“Whatever Aubrey,” I dismissed him. He smirked and pulled me to him.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered before kissing my neck.

“Aubrey!” I hissed as he started to suck on my spot.

“Do you forgive me babe?” He asked as his hands roamed over my body.

“Yes,” I exclaimed before pushing him off me. He had that stupid grin on his face before pecking my lips.

“I am really sorry,” he whispered against my lips.

“I forgive you but don’t do it again,” I declared.

“I won’t,” he smiled before kissing me again.

Blake’s P.O.V.

I walked into Nae’s house and the door was unlocked. “Nae?” I called out but received no answer. I walked to her bedroom and her door was locked. I knocked a couple times but once again, no answer. I grabbed a bobby pin out of my hair and begun to pick it. Nae was the one who taught me to pick locks. I opened the door and was traumatized by what I saw.

“NAE!?” I yelled and shook her but she didn’t wake up. I quickly grabbed my phone and called 911.

“911, what’s your emergency?” A lady answered.

“My friend, I think she overdosed,” I cried.

“Is she breathing?” She asked me. I checked and my heart fell.

“No,” I said softly.

~

“What happened!?” Nicki immediately asked me when she got to the hospital.

“She overdosed Nic,” I cried. Almost all the girls from the dance team except for Cassie. I understand why she wouldn’t want to be here but she said she hopes Nae’s okay.

“How did I not notice the signs,” CeeJay had her head in her hands. I walked away from the group for a second to get myself together. I grabbed the note that had my name on it. She left it right beside her. As I read it, tears flew down my face before I finally broke down. I slid to the floor and cried.

“Blakelynn!” Nicki rushed towards me and held me.

“It’s gonna be okay,” she whispered.

“No it won’t,” I sobbed.

“Why?” She scrunched her face up. I handed her the letter and it was complete  silence for a while.

“Oh Blake, I’m so sorry,” she wiped tears off her face.

“She’s in love with me and then she does shit like this!? She’s so god damn selfish!” I got to my feet and paced.

“Blake,” Nicki watched me cautiously.

“I’m fine,” I snapped before walking outside to get some air. She’s gonna be okay. She has to be okay.

Drake’s P.O.V.

I kissed the top of My’s head as we sat in the waiting room. Most of the girls went home because it was late except for Nicki, Blake, and CeeJay. CeeJay was in a corner zoned out while Nicki was sitting next to me. Blake was pacing around the room. “Auntie Nae is gonna be okay right daddy?” Mylan looked up at me.

“I hope so,” I mumbled as she snuggled up against me. A doctor came out and looked around.

“Family of Jaznae?” He called out. We all jumped up but realized none of us were related to her.

“I’m her sister,” a girl walked towards him. He looked down at the paper and then sighed. We all prepared for the worst.

This is my apology post. I need a break from writing but I'm back to posting. If you thought this was drama, it's just getting started. Three more chapters until the end of part one.

Chapter 21: Claiming What’s Rightfully Mine

Drake’s P.O.V.

“When were you gonna tell me?” Nicki snapped at me.

“We’re just hanging out. I didn’t think it was a big deal,” I pleaded with her.

“You think I’m comfortable with you being around her? After I saw the way you two look at each other, I can’t even stomach the thought!” She turned away from me.

“Onika listen, I don’t want Nebby anymore. She’s my past. I’m over her and I’m trying to move forward with you but you have to trust me,” I turned her around.

“It’s hard Aubrey,” she cried.

“I know but I’m not him. I don’t want Nebby,” I promised her.

“Did you make mommy cry?” Mylan asked as she walked out of the kitchen.

“No, mommy’s better,” Nicki reassured her. My looked at me for a moment before nodding at Nicki.

“Can I go play now?” She looked at Nicki. Nicki nodded as she ran up the stairs.

“If you’re not comfortable with me meeting Nebby then I won’t,” I told her.

“I’m not comfortable Aubrey,” she whispered.

“Then it’s done,” I pulled her to me.

~

“Woah,” I said as I saw her walk in. I looked at Nicki but she looked just as surprised.

“What the hell?” I heard Nae mumble as we all stared at her in shock. She finally walked to us and smiled.

Blake’s P.O.V.

I looked at Mere as she smirked. She brought out this confidence in me that I don’t want to leave. I had a smirk on my face as everyone stared at me in disbelief.

“We gonna start practice or what?” I asked as I walked into the gym. I felt Nae grab me and pull me aside.

“What the hell are you wearing and is your hair curled?” She stared at me in shock.

“Last time I checked, you wanted me to leave you alone. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do,” I pushed past her and walked into the gym. That felt good. I need to stand up for myself more often.

~

“So what’s with the random change?” Nicki asked me.

“Mere thought that I shouldn’t hide my body and I agree. I’m sick of feeling like I’m not hot. I’m sexy,” I smirked in the car.

“Mere huh? As long as you’re doing this for yourself and not her,” she reminded me.

“I want this Nicki. I never felt so confident in my life,” I smiled.

Cassie’s P.O.V.

“I want to shave half my head,” I randomly blurted out. Nicki let out a loud laugh before I hit her. “I’m serious Nic,” I said as we sat on the couch. We were at Shad’s house waiting for Shad and Coach Graham to come back from picking up food.

“I’ll have to see it to believe it,” she smiled.

“Not now of course. It will be that point in my life where I don’t give a fuck about anything,” I stated. She just started laughing again so I just joined in. “How’s Nae?” I asked her.

“I wouldn’t know,” she mumbled. I felt bad because as soon as Nicki and I become friends again, she and Nae have a fall out.

“I’m sorry,” I apologize.

“It’s not your fault. She’s shutting everyone out and I’m really worried about her,” she looked concerned.

“What about Blake?” I turned to look at her. Maybe Blake could talk some sense into Nae.

“Nae pissed at her too. Plus I think we all know that she’s a little preoccupied,” she chuckled. Just then the door opened.

“We’re back,” Shad said as he sat the food down.

~

“I’m glad y’all made up,” Shad said as we relaxed on the bed.

“So am I. I’ve really missed her,” I cuddled up to him.

“Thank you for last night,” he kissed my forehead.

“You don’t need to thank me, I wanted it,” I said as I slowly straddled him. “And I want it again,” I moaned as he grabbed my ass.

Drake’s P.O.V.

“Hello?” I walked outside in fear of Nicki hearing again.

“Hey Aubrey! So what movie are we seeing? I was thinking horror,” her voice filled my ears.

“About that, I can’t go,” I mumbled.

“She doesn’t want you hanging out with me,” she stated sadly.

“Who?” I was confused because I never told Nebby that I had a girlfriend.

“Whoever is keeping you occupied. It’s fine Aubrey. I just wanted our friendship back,” she sounded like she was about to cry.

“Don’t cry Nebby,” I whispered quietly.

“I’m sorry,” she hung up before I could speak. She sounds a mess.

~

I knocked on the door twice. Nebby opened the door in shock.

“Horror or comedy?” I smirked slightly.

“Horror, definitely horror,” she laughed as she let me in.

Nae’s P.O.V.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be leaving me alone,” I snapped as I saw Blake at the door.

“Well it’s a lot harder than I realized. Why can’t you just talk to me? When’s the last time we’ve talked?” She pleaded with me.

“I can’t do this right now,” I mumbled unable to look at her.

“We’re gonna do this now. Lay everything out on the table and figure out what the hell is wrong with you,” she pushed past me and walked into my house.

~

“You’re never gonna be replaced Nae. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you that for you to actually believe me,” she turned to make sure I was looking at her. Times like this make me thankful to have Blake in my life but that bitch’s words kept playing in my head. You don’t deserve her for all the shit you’ve put her through. I don’t deserve her.

“You should go,” I turned away from her and tried to get up but Blake wouldn’t let me.

“What’s wrong?” She looked hurt and worried at the same time.

“Stop worrying about me,” I said softly.

 “That’s impossible,” she mumbled.

“Fall in love with Chimere,” I finally stated and got up.

“It’s not that simple! How am I suppose to fall in love with her when,” she stopped talking because she realized what she was about to say.

“When what Blake? When you’re already in love with me?” I snapped and went over to the door.

“You know what, fine! I am in love with you,” she stated confidently and stood in front of me. It was almost like looking at a whole new person but this isn’t Blake. This is who Chimere created her to be.

“You can’t be. Damn Blake, you’re so young. You don’t even know what love is. I don’t even know what love is. You’re confused,” I lied straight to her face.

“We both know I don’t believe that bullshit,” she glared at me.

“You have to!” I practically screamed.

“Why Nae!? What’s so wrong about me? Why can’t you just fall in love with me? Am I not pretty enough? Is there someone,” she didn’t even finish before I pushed her against a wall and kissed her. I kissed her hard. She was shocked but soon fell into the kiss and tangled her fingers in my hair. I pulled her waist closer to mine and deepened the kiss. Slowly pulling back, I observed her face. I hated what I was about to do but I had to do it.

“Can’t you see Blake? I will destroy you and rip you apart from the inside out. I’m a ticking time bomb and I won’t allow you to be around when I explode. Now do what’s best for the both of us and get the hell out,” I cut my eyes at her and went into my room. Only when I heard the front door close did I let my tears fall.

Nicki’s P.O.V.

Him: We Need To Talk. Just hear me out alright?

Why is he texting me? I changed my number so I don’t know how he got it.

Nika: Why should I?

Him: Just let me explain. I went to your competition that day in hopes to talk to you. There’s so much you need to know.

Nika: When?

Him: Tomorrow at 5? Our place?

Nika: Don’t be late because I won’t be waiting

Him: Thank you Nika

Nika: Don’t thank me just yet

I turned my phone off after that. Where’s Aubrey? He should be home by now. I shrugged it off and went upstairs to talk to My. She’s been quiet all day. I knocked on her door before walking in.

“Hey baby, how are you feeling?” I asked as I sat on her bed.

“I’m okay,” she whispered.

“Mylan, what’s wrong? Did someone say something to you?” I questioned her.

“Did daddy make you cry?” She looked at me with innocent eyes.

“No he didn’t,” I lied to her.

“You told me it’s no good to lie,” she mumbled.

“It doesn’t matter because mommy’s all better,” I promised her.

“I don’t like you sad. He made you sad,” she sighed.

“But I’m okay now. Don’t worry okay?” I kissed her forehead.

“Okay,” she said softly. I hope Drake doesn’t end up making her resent him.

Mylan’s P.O.V.

Mommy decided to bring me to the park and let my friend Leah come too. We were running around while mommy sat on the bench. I think she was on the phone with daddy.

“You’re it!” Leah ran away from me as I tried to catch her. I ended up bumping into someone along the way.

“Oww,” I groaned as I hit the ground. This guy was strong. “I’m sorry mister,” I mumbled as I  got up. Mommy always told me to look where I’m going.

“It’s okay sweetheart,” he gave me a slight smile. He picked up my bracelet that must have fallen off and placed it around my wrist.

“Be careful and don’t talk to strangers,” he rubbed my shoulder slightly before backing away from me.

“Okay. Bye mister! Have a good day!” I said as I went off running again.

“You too Mylan,” he mumbled softly.

I know it's short but like I said before, I'm in school. I honestly wasn't going to post but I hurried up and typed it.
